When the adrenal gland produces too many hormones, it can affect the entire body – laparoscopic removal provides relief.

A gentle procedure using keyhole technique, planned interdisciplinarily with endocrinology.

The Procedure

Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy

Laparoscopic removal of one or both adrenal glands. Indications: hormone-producing tumors (adenomas, pheochromocytomas) or enlargements. Minimally invasive via keyhole technique.

Frequently Asked Questions

Well Informed for Your Consultation

When does an adrenal gland need to be operated on?

Surgery is recommended for hormone-producing tumors (e.g., Conn's syndrome, Cushing's syndrome, pheochromocytoma) or for enlargements of 4 cm or more (incidentaloma), in order to resolve hormonal disorders or rule out possible malignancy.

How is laparoscopic surgery performed?

Through three to four small incisions (5-12 mm), a camera and fine instruments are inserted. The adrenal gland is precisely dissected and removed. Compared to open surgery, this means less pain and faster recovery.

What is the recovery like?

The hospital stay is 1-3 days. Most patients can resume their normal activities after about one week. An endocrinological follow-up ensures hormonal balance.
